The Core 4×4 Crawl Series Long Arm Upgrade Kit for the Jeep Cherokee XJ is the next big upgrade after lifting your Jeep. When we set out to make this kit, we wanted to upgrade from the radius-style long arms that have flooded the market. Not only are they a bit of an eye sore, but having single points of failure holding your axle forward, just never sat well with us. So, we made a kit with true long lower AND upper control arms. This is what sets this kit apart. With the true long-arm design, you gain strength, stability, and higher ground clearance. The upper control arms tuck nicely inside the frame rail, allowing more room for up travel at lower lift ranges, increased range of motion for your suspension travel, and peace of mind when you are out on the trails!

Why do our Long Arm Kit?

First and foremost: Performance and ride quality. Longer arms mean your suspension cycles on a longer arch, giving your axle a smoother, more consistent range of motion. Proper suspension cycling gives the best ride quality on and off the road and flexibility when and where you need it. When you lift your jeep on ‘short’ arms the increased angle they ride at can bind and limit your suspension cycle. A true long-arm kit relocates your control arm mounts away from your axle, allowing for longer arms and proper suspension travel.

Next: Stability. Whether your jeep is a daily driver, a rock-crawling weekend warrior, or a little of both, long arm kits correct suspension geometry and help keep your wheels on the ground. A long arm kit is one of the best upgrades you can do when you lift your jeep to give you on- and off-road stability.

The factory bushings will not limit your flexibility much with this kit, but they can fail prematurely by twisting up and on a regular basis. We offer a polyurethane replacement as an option, or select the Rock Jock Axle Side Johnny Joint Upgrade Kit to replace your factory rubber with Johnny Joints! This upgrade gives you the absolute best flexibility and durability from your axle side upper control arm mount *cutting and welding are required for this option*

FAQs

Our product lines are designed to offer the absolute most value for your budget. Not every build is the same and we understand that. Our series differ mostly in the components used in the construction of the parts. Our Cruise and Town Series utilizes our high grade flex poly bushings at both ends of the arm, this has proven to be a smooth riding easy to maintain and replace bushing that we absolutely love. Our Camp and Trail Series utilizes 5/16″ wall DOM tubing and incorporates a flexible Johnny Joint at the adjusting end, this series has been our most popular series for all around use, great for daily drivers that want to tear up the trails as well. Our Crawl, Tow, and Track Series utilizes the same 5/16″ wall DOM tubing, but features Johnny Joints at both ends. This series gives you the absolute most out of your suspension. This is great for heavy towing/hauling and extreme off-roading. Also, if the component is straight in these series we will machine these left and right hand threaded for easy adjustment on the vehicle!

We are constantly expanding our product lines to include complete kits, if you don’t see something on the site for your vehicle, reach out to our sales team and we can put something together for you.

Our two main sizes of jam nuts require an1-1/2″ wrench or an 1-5/8″ wrench. Generally speaking the 1-5/8″ jam nuts are used on our lower control arms and the 1-1/2″ jam nuts on our upper control arms and track bars. There are some exceptions, but we do offer a crow’s foot that has both sizes.

Any non-synthetic moly based grease is safe on our products, avoid anything red as this can prematurely deteriorate the internal components of the Johnny Joints and bushings used on our parts.
