This is a complete replacement drag link assembly for your 2018-2021 Jeep Wrangler JL or 2019-2021 Gladiator JT. It includes the drag link (Polished Aluminum) which is also the adjusting sleeve, and left & right forged steel drag link ends, plus 2 Ninja Lock Washers.

Fitment: This steering kit fits stock Dana 44 and Dana 30 axles in the standard, undermount (not a flip kit). If you need a flip kit (typically more than 4.5 inches of lift, please see KIT129. If your jeep has been upgraded to a Dana 60 axle, we have modifications that can work with that as well, just contact us to order.

What It Fits:

  • Jeep Wrangler JL (2018-2022), Jeep Gladiator JT (2019-2022), both Dana30 and Dana44 front axles.

The Special Sauce:
Housing

  • SAE 1045 Solid Steel Forged Housing: This is unequivocally the best carbon alloy steel for this application.
  • CNC Machined Housing: Make our parts and bearings dimensionally perfect, eliminating any die wear issues.

Ball Studs

  • SAE 4140 hot forged Chromoly Ball Studs: For strongest possible metallurgy.
  • Induction Heat Treated Ball Studs: Provides a very precise heat treatment to the exact depth and location we want it.
  • Rolled Threads: Are made by pressing the shape of the threads into the ball stud instead of cutting. This strengthens the threads instead of weakening them and allows for easy movement of hardware. This ain’t no Ikea furniture!
  • Step Threads: Allows for very easy movement of hardware on install and superior holding when torqued. (Installer Choice).

Bearing Design

  • Rugged Metal to Metal Bearing.

Boots

  • CR Rubber Boots: The most durable material for undercar applications. Resistant to deterioration from road level ozone, oil/gas/engine fluids and extreme heat or cold
  • Accordion Boot: ideal for high-articulation components, more flexibility means longer life.

Finish

  • Rod Ends – Phosphate Finish: Extremely durable. Double coated. Rugged look.
  • Adjusting Sleeves – E-Coat Finish:Durable e-coat treatment

Hardware

  • Grade 8 – Class 10.9 Hardware: Superior tensile strength.
  • Castle Nut: Industry standard where high vibration loads occur.

Adjusting Rods

  • 2 inch 7075-T6 Aluminum Rod:The best aluminum available for this application. Extremely durable but has some flex and memory if you really bash it into something.

Lubrication

  • Pre-threaded Zerk Housing: If you have ever installed a MOOG Ball Joint without a pre-threaded zerk fitting you will understand what a simple but great feature this is. Another installer fav.
  • Greaseable: Because it should be.
  • Pre-Greased: Just in case you forget, we have you covered.
  • Gull Winged Grease Grooves : Allows for improved lubrication disbursement around the ball stud.
  • Zerk Fittings : Included for every application.

Special Features:

  • Tie Rod Ends – Flopper Stoppers Built In: Unlike the poly hockey pucks that most brands use, our heavy duty Flopper Stoppers inch are built into the tie rod end bearings, giving you an industry leading 27 degrees of stud swing left and right and only 2 degrees of stud swing forward and aft, keeping your tie rod and drag link from rotating and flopping.
  • The competitor hockey puck style systems also call for the removal of the tie rod end boot, which is there to keep the dirt out and the grease in.
  • Ninja Washers ™: An APEX exclusive is our Ninja Washer which is a unique method of securing the lock nut to the tube, erasing the need for lightly built adjusting tubes with ugly pinch clamps.
  • And who doesn’t want a ninja on their front end!

FAQs

Our product lines are designed to offer the absolute most value for your budget. Not every build is the same and we understand that. Our series differ mostly in the components used in the construction of the parts. Our Cruise and Town Series utilizes our high grade flex poly bushings at both ends of the arm, this has proven to be a smooth riding easy to maintain and replace bushing that we absolutely love. Our Camp and Trail Series utilizes 5/16″ wall DOM tubing and incorporates a flexible Johnny Joint at the adjusting end, this series has been our most popular series for all around use, great for daily drivers that want to tear up the trails as well. Our Crawl, Tow, and Track Series utilizes the same 5/16″ wall DOM tubing, but features Johnny Joints at both ends. This series gives you the absolute most out of your suspension. This is great for heavy towing/hauling and extreme off-roading. Also, if the component is straight in these series we will machine these left and right hand threaded for easy adjustment on the vehicle!

We are constantly expanding our product lines to include complete kits, if you don’t see something on the site for your vehicle, reach out to our sales team and we can put something together for you.

Our two main sizes of jam nuts require an1-1/2″ wrench or an 1-5/8″ wrench. Generally speaking the 1-5/8″ jam nuts are used on our lower control arms and the 1-1/2″ jam nuts on our upper control arms and track bars. There are some exceptions, but we do offer a crow’s foot that has both sizes.

Any non-synthetic moly based grease is safe on our products, avoid anything red as this can prematurely deteriorate the internal components of the Johnny Joints and bushings used on our parts.
